Andrew Wong
Partner
Andrew studied Law and graduated from the University of Southampton with LLB (Honours) in 2000 and went on to the College of Law, Guildford in 2001. Having trained and become an Assistant Solicitor with a commercial law firm in Maidenhead, Berkshire for 5 years, Andrew headed into London and was an Associate Solicitor with a commercial law firm based in the City. He was there for 3 years until November 2009 where he co-founded WT Law LLP.

Heena Thaker
Partner
Heena qualified as a solicitor in 2006 with a commercial law firm in the City of London. She was an Associate Solicitor there until November 2009, when she formed WT Law LLP with Andrew Wong. Heena specialises in Commercial and Residential Property Law and has advised all types of clients from first time buyers to large corporations and financial institutions. She also advises on licensing matters, including premises, personal and gambling licences.
Heena is also a qualified solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). She advises BVI corporate clients and financial institutions on their ability to enter into various business transactions.
In her spare time, Heena enjoys travelling & reading and is a football and cricket fan.
Heena also speaks fluent Gujarati.

Janak Bakrania
Solicitor
Janak joined WT Law in October 2014. He is a very experienced senior Solicitor at the firm specialising in Residential and Commercial Property.
Janak’s clients include high net worth individuals, corporations, receivers and trustees. He has also acted for lending institutions including those lending by way of Islamic/Sharia compliant finance on a variety of property related transactions. Aside from usual conveyancing matters Janak’s experience also includes financing, refinancing and/or restructuring of asset holding structures, negotiating, drafting and amending a variety of master/standard documents including guarantees and fixed and floating charges, inter-company transfers, drafting surrenders and re-grants and deeds of variation, loan documentation, company formation for property holding structures, assignments, sub-sales, novation agreements and SDLT formalities.
Janak believes in an enthusiastic, prompt and plain speaking approach when it comes to dealing with his transactions. Outside of work, Janak enjoys reading and going to the gym. He also speaks Gujarati.

Malachy McDermott
Consultant
Malachy is an experienced solicitor specialising in commercial and property law. He has extensive experience in acting for a range of clients including private individuals, property developers, investors and financial institutions on all aspects of commercial and property work including the acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential property, landlord and tenant matters, planning and development matters and property finance. Malachy graduated with a Law degree with LLB Honours from Liverpool John Moores University and prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked in the City of London for over 6 years in banking and finance for a number of major international investment banks and fund managers including Merrill Lynch, ABN AMRO Asset Management and Artemis Fund Managers. Outside of work he enjoys playing sport particularly running, golf and tennis. Other interests include fly fishing, travelling and visiting museums and art galleries.

Trevor Bond
Consultant
Trevor studied Law with Accounting at the University of Hertfordshire graduating with BA (Honours) in 2001. He stayed on to complete a Masters Degree in E-Commerce Law before completing his Diploma in Legal Practice at BPP Law School, Holborn. After gaining experience with a City based firm Trevor trained and became an Assistant Solicitor for a practice based in High Wycombe.
Trevor specialises in private client law including the provision of advice on estate planning, the drafting of wills and the administration of estates.
In his leisure time Trevor likes to exercise his passion for winter sports and water sports.

Albert Joia
Consultant
Albert qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 having trained at a niche West End firm. He moved on to become an Associate Solicitor at a broad-based commercial law firm where he practised for 15 years at offices in Chelsea, the City and Watford before becoming a Consultant Solicitor with WT Law LLP in 2011.
Albert specialises in civil litigation with a particular focus on commercial, contractual and property disputes. He also advises on professional negligence matters. Albert's clients range from private individuals to small and medium-sized businesses through to large institutions.
In his spare time, Albert enjoys reading and is learning to play golf. Albert also speaks fluent Spanish.
